If you skipped the polls Tuesday, you had company. Unofficial results show 39.8% of eligible North Dakotans cast ballots, the lowest turnout in five decades and below the 43% set in the 2022 midterm. In all, 239,057 ballots came in.
Voters were deciding the state's sole U.S. House seat, a number of statewide offices and two constitutional measures. Gov. Kelly Armstrong cast his ballot Monday at the Bismarck Event Center and urged everyone to vote: "Please, please, please vote."
“While the voter turnout is disappointing, I am hopeful more North Dakotans will become civically engaged and vote in future elections.”
Secretary of State Michael Howe
