- ➤ The North Dakota Council on the Arts (NDCA) awarded $119,500 in grants to 68 artists across 36 communities for its Folk and Traditional Arts Apprenticeship Program, which funds four- to ten-month apprenticeships offering instruction, supplies, and travel to preserve traditions like Ojibwe storytelling, Sioux cape making, Norwegian rosemaling, and Bhutanese drumming. - ➤ Bow hunters in Bismarck will start deer archery season tomorrow at noon—however, they must wait for their tags to arrive in the mail before hunting. - ➤ After the first week of sports, officials reported that high school participation is at an all-time high and more community members are volunteering to officiate games.
