  • Way.com's data team has released a guide detailing car insurance rates in North Dakota. The report finds that North Star offers the lowest liability coverage at $23 a month while Nationwide has the cheapest full coverage at $58—a study that also warns traffic violations can raise rates from $174 to over $300 and notes that cities like Fargo average $117 a month.  KX News

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • North Dakota lawmakers are in the final three weeks of the 80-day session ending May 9. The Senate voted down a resolution on mandated reporting of abuse prompted by former Sen. Ray Holmberg's sex crime conviction + narrowly passed an amended bill to raise the interstate speed limit to 80 mph, which the House will now review + send to Gov. Armstrong.  KVRR
  • The North Dakota Senate rejected a resolution that would require future lawmakers to report suspected child exploitation crimes—imposing tougher penalties on elected officials who fail to report them.  Bismarck Tribune
