- ➤ The Bismarck Dream Center is handing out over 1,500 donated gifts today from 4 to 7 p.m. for a Christmas event at the Dream Center (volunteers wrapped the presents and founder Jim Barnhardt praised the community's generosity). KFYR-TV
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Bismarck firefighters responded at 4:30 p.m. Monday to a house fire on the 1900 block of East Avenue C and rescued a rabbit and five cats as the cause remains undetermined. KFYR-TV
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Members of Chabad Jewish Center lit the public menorah at the state capitol on Monday during a Hanukkah celebration that honored those lost in Australia, with Governor Kelly Armstrong speaking. The festival runs until Monday nightfall. KFYR-TV
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The North Dakota Safety Council is teaching the Alive at 25 defensive driving program to nearly 500 9th and 12th graders at Century High School starting this week, with the course offered for free through a grant from the state Department of Transportation. KX News
- ➤ Bismarck veteran Adam Grimsley received a $5,000 scholarship Tuesday morning from Sanford to support his nursing doctorate studies as he works to overcome PTSD from his Afghanistan deployment. He plans to continue his education while supporting his family. KFYR-TV
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ A deer hunter encountered a larger group of grey wolves at the J. Clark Salyer Wildlife Refuge in late November, prompting concern about impacts on local wildlife. The refuge, managed by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, has yet to offer further details. KFYR-TV

- ➤ Century Girls Hockey is off to a fast start today as the Patriots hold the state’s top spot despite injuries. Coach Tim Meyer said the mix of experienced seniors and incoming freshmen, led by freshman Elliana Mattson, has helped the team build momentum after last year’s early state tournament exit. KFYR-TV
- ➤ The Bismarck Larks will take the field as the Dakota Ditch Chickens for one game on July 15, 2026 at Dakota Community Bank & Trust Field; Gov. Kelly Armstrong becomes the first sitting governor to manage a baseball team as he sets the lineup to support conservation efforts. KX News
- ➤ The cross-country ski trails at Riverwood Golf Course closed after a busy week as warmer weather melted the snow. Local staff said skiing will resume when snowfall brings the trails back to life. KFYR-TV
