- ➤ The US Small Business Administration said eligible small businesses and non-profits in counties hit by drought can apply for economic injury disaster loans starting April 15 to help with working capital needs—loans up to $2 million have no interest until payments begin 12 months after disbursement and must be applied for by December 22. ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ The North Dakota Game and Fish Department and the Garrison Dam National Fish Hatchery staff started the annual process in October by using an electrofishing boat to capture Lake Sakakawea salmon and extract eggs—aiming for about 1.2 million eggs that will yield roughly 300,000 stocked fish for future anglers. The salmon averaged 9 to 10 pounds this year, reflecting a strong year class needed to sustain the lake's fishing opportunities. KFYR-TV
