COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Bismarck Parks and Recreation is offering BLAST Day Camp for children on Dec. 26, 29, 30, and 31 (7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.) to provide a safe, activity-filled option during the holiday break. Registration opens to the public on Nov. 21 and ends on Dec. 12, with a fee of $25 per child per day.  KFYR-TV
  • North Dakotans are gearing up for the holiday season with several festive events scheduled across the state. In Bismarck, the Event Center will host the Christmas Big One Art & Craft Fair on November 21—22 while other celebrations are planned in Garrison, Mandan, Minot and at the state Capitol on December 2.  KX News

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Governor Kelly Armstrong signed a proclamation yesterday for Hunger and Homelessness Awareness week, which runs through Saturday, November 22—he also announced a new council to address homelessness statewide—while a study shows over 21,000 people experienced homelessness over three years and nearly 10% of residents face food insecurity.  KX News
