- ➤ Big Muddy Metfix held its 9th annual 24-hour workout today to honor first responders and raised $1,000 for the North Dakota Peace Officers Association Emergency Relief Fund. - ➤ A driver fled a November 12 crash that left a shivering puppy behind — trooper Tom Steenstrup rescued the pup and an NDHP employee later adopted it, naming it after the officer while NDHP continues its investigation and plans to press charges. KX News

- ➤ Washburn officials are planning a memorial to honor Clint Hill, a native and former Secret Service agent who made a split-second act of heroism in Dallas over six decades ago—more details are expected to be announced soon. Bismarck Tribune

- ➤ North Dakota Tax Commissioner Brian Kroshus released third-quarter tax data that shows a 0.48% drop in taxable sales compared to last year, resulting in about $40 million less in revenue. - ➤ The ND Department of Agriculture announced that schools can apply for a grant to set up hydroponic gardens for STEM learning — applications are due December 8 and decisions come December 15. About 50 gardens will be delivered by January and schools that received a garden in 2023-24 cannot apply again. KX News
- ➤ Representatives from the North Dakota University System told lawmakers that more than 47,000 students attend the public colleges, with an 8 percent increase in freshmen and a 17 percent rise in dual credit high school enrollment—an update that points to favorable trends compared to some neighboring states. University System Commissioner Brent Sanford said the trends may reflect North Dakota's diverse academic offerings. KFYR-TV

- ➤ Game warden Zach Schuchard spent his hunting season in the field checking licenses and equipment from pheasant to big game in western North Dakota. He noted that while most hunters follow the law, a slight rise in license issues and other common violations has kept him busy and he urged anyone who sees a violation to call Report All Poachers at 701-328-9921. - ➤ District game warden Zach Schuchard spent many hours in the field in western ND during the busy pheasant season checking licenses and hunting equipment—he noted that most hunters obey the rules but some are cited for failing to tag game birds or hunting without a license. KX News
- ➤ The government shutdown did not stop over 116,000 passengers from boarding flights in October—a record that is nearly 4% higher than last October. Executive Director Kyle Wanner said the full impact of recent airline cancellations will be shown in November's report. KFYR-TV
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Century girls’ swimming won its third consecutive state championship Saturday—completing their meet with a win in the 400-yard freestyle relay. The team has claimed the state title in ten of the last 11 seasons. KFYR-TV
- ➤ No. 13 North Dakota rallied in the second half to defeat Murray State 35-17—Sawyer Seidl, Colton Brunell, and Jerry Kaminski each scored a rushing touchdown, and the Fighting Hawks will host South Dakota State in their final game. KFYR-TV
