- ➤ Julie Schirado from Furry Friends Rockin Rescue introduced her new puppy, Summit, who is full of energy and loves belly rubs—he is friendly with kids and other animals. The shelter is hosting Darts For Dogs and Cornhole For Cats at Send-It in Mandan today—registration opens at noon and games start at 1 p.m. KX News
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A preliminary report shows that a fatigue crack in the Keystone Pipeline led to an oil spill on April 8 that spilled about 3,500 barrels of oil onto farmland near Fort Ransom—cleanup crews recovered nearly 90% of the oil, the spill cost about $55 million, and further evaluations are planned. - ➤ Tesla is suing the North Dakota Department of Transportation after the state blocked its dealership applications— the suit claims the block stops the company from opening its own service centers. Bismarck Tribune
- ➤ The North Dakota Department of Commerce is accepting applications for the LIFT program that offers low-interest loans to businesses developing new technology—loans offer 0% interest for three years, 2% for two years, and funds for working capital with applications due by 5 p.m. CST on Dec. 18. The next funding review is scheduled for March 18 in Bismarck. KX News
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Gov. Kelly Armstrong declared Friday, Nov. 14 as the Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims to honor those injured or killed in crashes. The state reiterated its commitment to the Vision Zero Strategic Highway Safety Plan for 2024 to 2028—aiming to reduce road fatalities to 75 or fewer by 2030 after reporting 75 fatal crashes this year.
