CULTURE NEWS

  • The state historical society gave out awards for local history. Fargo Air Museum got one for teaching about flight, Toine Schreinemachers was honored for studying Venlo roots, and Gerald Newborg was praised for keeping the state archives, while Arlene Saugstad received a posthumous award for arts in Minot—her legacy lives on with a theatre named by the Mouse River Players.  KX News

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Three years ago on November 10th, 2022, a blizzard in Bismarck dropped 17 inches of snow + nearby areas saw nearly 2 feet as the city recorded its second highest snowfall day. The storm began with a wintry mix before turning to all snow while gusts of 30 to 40 mph created dangerous travel conditions.  KX News

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Vision Zero North Dakota will host a commemoration ceremony on November 14th at the State Capitol to honor those lost in road crashes with speakers, a 73-second moment of silence, and a temporary memorial made from personal items, all organized by road safety officials. The event, held annually across the state and beyond, aims to remind everyone that each crash statistic represents a loved one.  KX News
  • Bismarck State College will host listening sessions on November 12, 13 and 14 at the Basin Electric Auditorium and BSC Student Union as it searches for a permanent president after the role became vacant in January—Wednesday’s sessions include two events for faculty and staff and a public session, with Thursday and Friday sessions set for students and staff.  KX News
