- ➤ Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library is set to open on July 4 next summer near Medora in the rugged Badlands to honor the president's legacy with exhibits and public programs. Library boosters have raised $344 million so far and expect the center to attract visitors from local areas like Theodore Roosevelt National Park — a unique draw for the region. Bismarck Tribune

- ➤ Airports in North Dakota set a new record for September boardings as more than 103,000 passengers flew out of eight commercial airports last month. Minot had a 10% increase from last September, and year-to-date totals reached nearly 993,000 boardings + the record marks a milestone in state air travel. KFYR-TV
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Deer gun season will begin at 12 p.m. CT on Nov. 7 as over 42,000 licenses are issued to help rebuild the herd with improved habitats—official Bill Haase noted whitetail numbers are slow to recover while mule deer remain steady. KFYR-TV
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The North Dakota Highway Patrol has posted Halloween safety tips for trick-or-treaters and drivers, urging kids to look both ways, wear bright costumes, and travel in groups, while drivers are asked to be extra cautious. It also released a Lyft discount code (VZHALLOWEEN25) available from October 30 to November 1 that gives ten dollars off rides to help discourage impaired driving. KX News

- ➤ The West swept the Class A cross country championships today as the Bismarck High boys won their third state title by a 41-point margin and the Williston High girls clinched their win with four top runners. Star runners Owen Hintz (15:27.8 with a 25-second finish) and Ruby Ihmels (winning by over one minute) led the teams. KFYR-TV
- ➤ No. 8 North Dakota defeated the Indiana Sycamores 46-17 on Saturday, keeping them undefeated in conference play. Their quarterback threw five touchdowns—four by air and one on the ground—while the team prepares to face South Dakota in Vermillion next week. KFYR-TV
- ➤ The No. 1 Bison defeated the No. 2 Jackrabbits 38-7 in the Dakota Marker Rivalry as backup quarterback Luke Marble struggled after starting quarterback Chase Mason was sidelined due to injury — the win improved NDSU’s record to 8-0 and the team will face Youngstown State next week in Fargo.
