- ➤ During the week of October 6, Mandan Police retired K9 Kupper after six years of service and the Mandan Eagles Club donated $1,500 to help fund the candy budget for Trunk-or-Treat—while the Veterans Memorial Public Library received the Future-Focused award. In Minot, 20-year-old Brody Nelson will compete in a top rider event as students attended the Fly-ND Career Expo and volunteers added over 1,000 service hours. KX News

- ➤ Chevron confirmed 111 layoffs between Minot and Tioga after its merger with Hess Oil Company led to a consolidation effort—originally expected to cut 70 jobs. The move adds to a trend in the oil industry as statewide projections show 4,000 oil and gas jobs were lost from January to August. KX News
