- ➤ Today, Firehouse Subs and the Bismarck Rural Fire Department hosted the Touch-the-Truck event at a local Firehouse Subs to let kids and families see a fire truck up close and meet first responders. The event raised $70 in its first half of the day and will run through October—supporting fire safety efforts. KX News

- ➤ Bearscat Bakehouse is helping Little Cottage Cafe by honoring its gift certificates for donuts after the cafe closed. Kevin from the bakehouse said customers can redeem their certificates with a visit—providing a new way to use what was once valued. KFYR-TV
- ➤ Kylie Williams bought the Steep Me Tea Apothecary on September 22 after the previous owners, who had declined her offer to sell a point-of-sale system, offered to sell the store to her. She spent 17 months securing financing and the business remains open Tuesday—Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. KFYR-TV
- ➤ Two Track Malting has expanded its operations to Menoken—becoming the first company worldwide to use a new modular malting system that gives breweries improved flexibility and traceability. Bismarck Tribune

- ➤ A new mural celebrating Bismarck history shines on the wall of Zimmerman’s Furniture Clearance Center (Main Street). Local artist Melissa Gordon painted the vibrant artwork featuring the city’s founding year, Otto Von Bismarck eating a Bismarck donut, state symbols (fish, deer, and bird) and a bear representing Teddy Roosevelt as Odney Advertising donated the piece to mark its 40th anniversary. - ➤ A farmer in Adams County spotted suspect plants that experts confirmed as Palmer amaranth—an invasive weed that grows two to three inches per day—after samples were sent to a lab currently closed due to a government shutdown. KX News
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Registration is open for high school esports teams as organizers expect this to be the largest varsity season ever, with teams signing up from Sept. 29 through Oct. 29 via the Fenworks platform. Early registrants will be eligible for preseason matches from Nov. 10 to 21, and the regular season starts on Dec. 1 with playoffs from Feb. 2 to 6 and the state tournament on Feb. 27 to 28 at UND in Grand Forks.
