  • McCabe United Methodist Church is hosting its 8th Annual Clothing Giveaway today from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 1030 N 6th St. in Bismarck—attendees can get free coats, shoes, handbags, and clothing for all ages while enjoying food and volunteer support.  KX News
  • Bismarck’s 52nd annual Downtowners Street Fair is underway with 180 vendors across seven blocks and over 75,000 visitors expected during the two-day run—organizers said the event began in the 1970s and will finish at 6 p.m. today.  KFYR-TV
  • Julie Schirado from Furry Friends Rockin’ Rescue introduced her energetic new puppy Butterscotch who loves to play and is friendly to other animals — families with active kids may enjoy spending time with her. The rescue will be at Petsmart in Bismarck Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and at Papa’s Pumpkin Patch on Sunday.  KX News

  • Marvel Rivals, a fast-paced team-based game featuring Marvel characters, will join North Dakota high school esports for the 2025-26 varsity season—Fenworks Esports cited strong student demand and the game's cross-platform play as reasons for the change.  KX News
  • Students in North Dakota high schools are joining e-sports programs like Mandan High School’s team as they build skills in communication and problem solving. Fenworks is partnering with schools to add competitive gaming into lessons—providing pathways to college scholarships and STEM careers.  KX News

  • The Bismarck landfill is giving away free firewood while supplies last—residents are encouraged to visit early since the offer ends when the supply runs out.  Bismarck Tribune

  • On Tuesday, the Bismarck City Commission approved the 2026 budget and added a full-time municipal court staff member to help with rising caseloads—adjusting its resources to meet growing legal demands.  Bismarck Tribune
  • Bismarck Landfill is offering free firewood while supplies last; customers need to cut and load their own wood from two designated areas during operating hours (Monday–Saturday 6am–4pm).  City of Bismarck

HEALTH NEWS

  • Students and staff at Mandan High School walked on Friday afternoon to raise awareness of the 988 crisis line during National Suicide Prevention Month—school counselors reported an increase in students seeking support after the walk.  KFYR-TV
  • Over 100 women gathered in Bismarck on Thursday for a cancer survivorship retreat that has expanded to support survivors of all cancers — the event featured speakers, breakout sessions, food and activities to help address both emotional and physical challenges. Jill Rodgers of Sanford Health said survivors still experience numbness and difficulty with fine motor skills after treatment — the retreat provided essential support for these issues.  KX News
