ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ On September 4 at 8 p.m., the North Dakota Highway Patrol reported a fatal crash in Emmons County when a 50-year-old man driving a Pontiac Montana struck a tree while traveling south on 1st Avenue SE and missed a turn at the intersection with 61st Street—he died at the scene and investigators are looking into the cause. - ➤ Bismarck Police reported that missing persons cases now average under five per month this year compared to about six before, with 307 reports filed in the last five years and only five still unsolved excluding runaways. KX News
- ➤ A Mandan man pleaded guilty to attempting to traffic meth and other drugs in Bismarck—he was sentenced on Thursday to 7 ½ years in prison. Bismarck Tribune

- ➤ Bismarck Airport reported 79,510 enplanements and 80,671 deplanements from May through July, showing growth in travel demand—American Airlines launched a nonstop route to Chicago O’Hare in June and the airport began improvements with new parking pay stations, jet bridge upgrades, and Taxiway Charlie North reconstruction expected to finish by the end of September. The airport will also host community events including a Fly-In/Drive-In Pancake Breakfast on Sept. 14 and veteran welcome activities on Sept. 22 and 24. KX News

- ➤ North Dakota lawmakers are looking into using nuclear reactors to improve the power grid, with a study by Nucleon Energy examining small modular reactors that might be installed at sites like Minot Air Force Base and Grand Forks. Lawmakers said proposals may be introduced in the 2027 legislative session to set up clear regulations for these plants. KFYR-TV
- ➤ Divide Avenue will be closed between 35th Street and Channel Drive for sewer line replacement work. Detour signs will be installed on September 8 and the road will close on September 9 at 8:15 a.m. for about one month, with a detour via 26th Street, Rosser Avenue — Bismarck Expressway.
