- ➤ The Sam McQuade Sr. Charity Softball Tournament celebrated its 50th anniversary in June and raised $181,000 for 78 local charities — funds that will boost community programs. The donation awards were announced yesterday at a banquet at the Elks Club — where charity representatives shared how the money will help their groups. KX News

- ➤ Today, the Bismarck Planning Division begins placing signs on properties and boulevards to notify residents about a public hearing for a development project starting this September—these signs will be up about two weeks before the meeting and removed shortly after. The pilot project, directed by the Board of City Commissioners, will gather data at future meetings to assess the signs' impact on public participation. City of Bismarck
- ➤ Traffic is being reduced at the intersection of Washington Street and Front Avenue/Memorial Highway as a project to replace the traffic signal began Sept. 4—lane closures will continue for two to three months—and no detour is provided for motorists. KX News
- ➤ On September 4, 9th Street was reduced to one lane near Boulevard Avenue—crews began repairing a water line connection with the project expected to last one to two days and no detour provided. City of Bismarck
- ➤ North Dakota lawmakers explored nuclear energy after the Advanced Nuclear Energy Committee heard proposals from nine companies under House Bill 1025, and Bismarck airport wrapped up a $4 million project to replace its aging jet bridges. City crews are preparing for winter by securing supplies and training new drivers—steps taken to ready the city for possible snow as early as October. KX News
- ➤ North Dakota requested a presidential disaster declaration for Aug. 7-8 storms that produced tornadoes, large hail, and winds of 70 to 100 mph and knocked out power for more than 16,000 residents. The storms caused roughly $6 million in damage to homes, businesses, and infrastructure—and if approved, federal funds will help cover recovery costs. KFYR-TV
