- ➤ On August 29, a Ford F-150 driven by a 94-year-old from Linton attempted a turnaround on I-94 and struck a Chevrolet Express van carrying members of the Mayville State golf team—three people were injured and taken to the hospital. KVRR

- ➤ A DTS Gaming study found that living the American Dream in North Dakota costs about $67,546 — families earning a median income of $89,505 now spend over 75% of their pay on rising grocery and child care costs — which leaves little for other needs. KX News
- ➤ Stacker compiled statistics on gas prices in North Dakota as of August 25—regular gas averaged $2.88 with a decrease of $0.01 this week and $0.39 this year while diesel stood at $3.42; Bismarck's price was $2.95, making it the second highest metro price in the state. KX News

- ➤ Interim Chancellor Brent Sanford of the ND University System formed a cost-saving partnership with the Capital Gallery to fill his bare office with art by local NDUS-affiliated artists. - ➤ On August 26, lawmakers in the interim Judiciary Committee examined over $31 million in uncollected court fines and fees—including $12.2 million from traffic violations and charges dating back more than two decades—as they plan reforms ahead of the 2027 session, with further committee meetings expected in November.
