- ➤ Bismarck Veterans Memorial Public Library is hosting a produce drop off for the Hunger Free North Dakota Garden Project for the second year — the station is open throughout the growing season so residents can donate extra produce or buy items to donate. KFYR-TV

- ➤ A juvenile was seriously injured and a 47-year-old Minot man faces multiple charges after his 2008 GMC Yukon hit a tree head-on at Cross Ranch State Park on July 27th at about 2:48 p.m.—neither wore a seatbelt and both were taken to Sanford Medical Center. KX News
- ➤ Two men were killed and one person was seriously injured in a three-vehicle crash Friday night on Highway 3 near mile marker 126 in Kidder County— a Jamestown woman died Saturday morning when her car was found submerged in Stink Lake— and a driver was arrested after a 25-mile high-speed pursuit on I-94 ended with a PIT maneuver in Cass County. - ➤ A Bismarck woman pleaded guilty to trying to bribe a police officer and was sentenced to two years of unsupervised probation Monday. Bismarck Tribune

- ➤ On August 23, a free historic walking tour called Capital in Farm Country will take place in downtown Bismarck starting at Camp Hancock State Historic Site at 11 a.m. and finishing at the Former Governors’ Mansion State Historic Site, covering a mile in an hour and a half and passing sites like Bloody Fourth and the Northern Pacific Railway Depot. - ➤ Bismarck Veterans Memorial Public Library will host a Family Mini Golf event on Friday, August 8, from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. The library is partnering with University of Mary’s Physical Therapy students and Friends of the Bismarck Public Library to create nine mini golf holes, offer fairytale princess face painting, and serve free root beer floats (early pre-registration required). - ➤ Bismarck released its preliminary 2026 budget set at just over $484 million. The plan funds public safety projects—renovating City Hall, buying land for a new police station and building a new Hay Creek Lift Station—and utility improvements, with Finance Director Dmitriy Chernyak saying it aims to address revenue challenges from a 3% property tax cap. - ➤ North 4th Street is closed between East Avenue A and B starting at 8:30 a.m. today when the City Forestry Division removes a boulevard tree — the work will finish by noon with no detour available, so drivers should use alternate routes. KX News
