- ➤ A study by Suzuki Law Offices found that fatal bicycle accidents cost North Dakota $14,177 per 1,000 residents and a total average of $11,050,000 from 2020 to 2023, despite only three cyclist fatalities out of 267 crashes. The report warns that even minor increases in fatalities can burden the state’s economy (calling for enhanced road safety measures). KX News

- ➤ North Dakota local governments are finalizing their 2026 budgets as they prepare to implement a tax system change that will raise the primary residence credit to $1,600 and cap annual property tax increases at 3%—county leaders say the changes may force rural areas to seek new revenue sources. - ➤ Two weeks ago, a DOT chip sealing project on I-94 between Bismarck and Mandan caused heavy traffic—DOT has now postponed the remaining work to next construction season without setting an official start date. KFYR-TV
