  • A study by Simmrin Law Group shows North Dakotans lost $21 per person from romance scams and confidence fraud from 2021 to 2024—the highest per capita loss in the nation with over $16.3 million in total losses while state and federal agencies are urged to develop targeted fraud prevention strategies.  KX News

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • BisMan Transit is gathering public input over the next three to six months to decide if it will extend its CAT Bus route hours — which now end at 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday — after guidance from the local Transportation Steering Committee. Executive Director Deidre Hughes said the agency may run buses from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. — if it hires more CDL-certified drivers —.  KFYR-TV

  • People with sleep apnea who plan to camp are advised by Sleep Health Expert Kiera Pritchard to pack a portable battery pack and travel-sized CPAP—choosing campgrounds with power and bringing distilled water helps maintain safe sleep.   • Mental health was North Dakota's top chronic health issue last year and 46 percent of residents lived in areas with few providers. Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota is working with local schools as four schools—Carrington, Emerado, Manvel and Thompson—have started peer-led emotional wellness programs to help students build trusted support systems.  KFYR-TV
