- ➤ Bismarck Public Works has cleared more than 1,150 tons of storm debris since Friday night and will continue curbside pickup through next week—University of Mary professor Robert Dosch is shadowing the state auditor’s office to inspire his students while Minot Public Library offers free summer programs to help over 700 kids fight the summer slide. - ➤ Kitty City, a local sanctuary caring for over 40 special-needs cats, suffered more than $10,000 in damage last weekend when high winds and hail damaged fences and the main barn door. Executive Director Alison Smith said volunteers repaired the door with rebar temporarily — additional severe weather may hit the facility this weekend. KX News
- ➤ Angela Carlson from Regent recalled surviving an F4 tornado that struck her family's farm in late June 1975 when she was nine and left a lasting impact on the community; her mom and neighbors helped rescue animals and rebuild after the storm. - ➤ A Bismarck man in custody on felony drug charges in Morton County now faces a new charge for allegedly attempting to bribe a witness. Bismarck Tribune
ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ Two companies — WBI Energy and Intensity Infrastructure Partners — are asking for a 10-year financial guarantee for up to $500 million to build a natural gas pipeline that will move gas from oil fields to industrial users, with construction scheduled for 2029 and 2030. State officials will decide on the guarantee at the July Industrial Commission meeting as local groups and industry back the project to reduce gas flaring. Bismarck Tribune

- ➤ North Dakota lawmakers passed legislation — which requires cryptocurrency ATM licenses, limits transactions to $2,000 and mandates warning labels — after scammers tricked victims into sending cash to digital wallets and causing losses of over $6 million. The law takes effect on Aug. 1 and officials advise anyone with suspicious calls to report them to Fraud Watch Network. KFYR-TV

- ➤ The North Dakota Association for the Disabled awarded $54,000 in grants to 12 organizations across the state, including groups in Bismarck and Minot, to support programs for people with disabilities. The grant—named for founders Faye and Ron Gibbens—will help expand social, education, and health services for at-risk populations. KX News
