- ➤ A 38-year-old man from New Town died in a kayaking accident on Lake Sakakawea over the weekend—he tipped his kayak near the Four Bears Memorial Bridge and divers recovered his body Saturday afternoon. KX News

- ➤ The State Historical Society will soon install flush toilets at 12 popular historic sites, including Lawrence Welk’s childhood home 50 miles southeast of Bismarck. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Avenue C between Griffin Street and Anderson Street and Griffin Street between Avenue C and Boulevard Avenue closed Monday, June 23 and will remain closed until Monday, June 30 due to water line work — detours are available on Anderson Street and Avenue B. The streets will reopen after one week but will continue to have intermittent work and shifted lanes for about three more weeks — local officials ask drivers to plan alternate routes. KX News
- ➤ After a storm on June 20 that damaged many trees, the City’s Forestry Division reminded residents that only licensed arborists may conduct commercial tree pruning or removal per ordinance. Officials explained that certified arborists—either by an international society or by passing the city test + carrying insurance—are required, and residents are asked to follow proper guidelines for debris placement to prevent street flooding. - ➤ Aurum Capital Ventures plans to develop a data center on 300 acres of county-owned land near Buckstop Junction in east Bismarck after land agent Charlie White made the proposal at last week's Burleigh County Commission meeting. The project, which could add 50 to 300 jobs, faces concerns about power supply and grid stability from Commissioner Steve Bakken—county officials will review the plan further at the July 7 meeting. - ➤ Knife River Corporation is reconstructing East Century Ave by installing a new storm sewer while the gravel roadway remains until mid-August—crews have already finished most watermain work and are now working near Roosevelt Drive to improve the local transportation network. KX News
- ➤ Third Street in south Bismarck remains closed for pavement repairs as work continues on the concrete. The closure began Monday, June 2—with one lane closed in each direction and two lanes open for later repairs—and the project is expected to last several months. KX News
