  • A 71-year-old man from Gardner died in a motorcycle crash on Sunday when his bike overturned on Highway 22 in Dunn County—North Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating the incident.  KFYR-TV

  • A Bismarck man pleaded guilty yesterday to setting fire to a residence occupied by others—he was sentenced to two years of supervised probation.  Bismarck Tribune

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Today, the North Dakota Department of Commerce announced the 2025 Destination Development Grant Program to give $15 million to projects that boost tourism and expand local attractions — a move designed to grow the state’s economy. Eligible groups can request between $25,000 and $5,000,000 with a required 1:1 match and must submit applications online from July 1 to July 31 — setting a clear path for new tourism developments.  KX News
  • The Bismarck Fire Department welcomed three new firefighters who earned Firefighter 1 certifications after completing the Fire Academy—Miles Mainey on A shift, Taylor Schwede on B shift, and Clay Roberts on C shift—to join shift duty while a joint training with Mandan Fire Department helped maintain consistent standards.  City of Bismarck

HEALTH NEWS

  • Bismarck-Burleigh Public Health will join statewide partners for Quit Week from June 8–14 to help residents quit smoking, vaping, chewing tobacco or using nicotine pouches.   • The North Dakota Department of Health and Human Resources reported two measles cases in Williams County on Tuesday, raising the state total to 34 cases from Williams, Cass, Grand Forks and Burke Counties — all in unvaccinated people.   • Cathy Job launched a new BisMan Pink Ladies chapter in Bismarck after losing family members to cancer and her own scare, shifting the group from breast cancer awareness to supporting all cancer patients. The organization will host events like a dart league and a rock painting day on June 14 at BisMarket and charges a $50 fee that is refunded to those who volunteer for five hours.  KFYR-TV
