  • On Friday, a man was extradited from Missouri to Bismarck on charges of alleged human trafficking facilitation +authorities said+.  Bismarck Tribune
  • A 45-year-old man from Oklahoma was extradited from Missouri and is now at the Burleigh-Morton Detention Center on human trafficking and evidence tampering charges after police found signs of commercial sex at a local hotel—text messages tied him to the crimes.  KX News

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Today, the Bismarck Airport is upgrading its parking lot equipment—officials say the new system will improve parking management for travelers.  Bismarck Tribune
  • The Drinking Water State Revolving Fund awarded $6.4 million to Mandan for upgrades to its water treatment plant and to replace aging water mains. Four additional loans were given to Hillsboro, Portland, Surrey, and West Fargo to improve water systems — funding provided by the EPA under the Safe Drinking Water Act.  KX News
  • The U.S. Department of Homeland Security issued a list naming Billings, Golden Valley, Grant, Morton, Ramsey, Sioux and Slope counties as 'Sanctuary Jurisdictions' defying federal law—North Dakota Sheriff’s and Deputies Association says the claim is misleading and that these counties work closely with federal agencies. DHS will notify the counties as noncompliant, while sheriff officials insist they continue to enforce the law accurately.  KX News
  • Starting Monday June 2, 3rd Street between Bismarck Expressway and Main Avenue will have one through lane closed in each direction for concrete pavement repairs—remaining lanes will be repaired later this year.  City of Bismarck
