  • Bismarck Parks and Recreation Department announced the 2026 outdoor pool and splash pad schedule — the plan lets residents know when public pools and splash pads will be available for summer fun.  Bismarck Tribune

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • KMOT First News at Six Sportscast featured a summer documentary on 82 tornadoes in 2025 airing on TV, and reported that crews responded to a fire at an apartment complex near Kirkwood Mall while also showcasing a tour of Bismarck State College’s new Bavendick Center.  KFYR-TV

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • North Dakota Game and Fish announced they will lift the no-camping rule for Memorial Day week, allowing overnight camping on May 26 + May 27 in approved Wildlife Management Areas.  KX News
  • The North Dakota Department of Mineral Resources released a report on the 75th anniversary of oil discovery and set future production plans this week. It also hosts the 33rd annual Williston Basin Petroleum Conference at the Bismarck Event Center (Governor Kelly Armstrong will join a panel discussion).  KX News

  • A portion of Canary Avenue on the Bismarck State College campus will be closed for a state high school track meet at the MDU Resources Community Bowl; officials advise drivers to plan alternative routes.  Bismarck Tribune
