  • Great Plains Food Bank is building a 70,000 sqft distribution center (in Fargo) to meet rising demand and boost storage by 57%; the facility is set to open in fall 2027.  KFYR-TV

EDUCATION NEWS

  • On Wednesday, May 27, community members can visit Bismarck Veterans Memorial Public Library’s Meeting Room A for the Summer Reading Kickoff Used Book Sale from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., where gently used books are sold at $1.00 per pound to support library programs & services.  City of Bismarck

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Governor Kelly Armstrong ordered government agencies to fly flags at half-staff today to honor 69 fallen peace officers on Peace Officers Memorial Day — business owners and residents are encouraged to display flags as he joins Attorney General Drew Wrigley and Chief Justice Lisa Fair McEvers at a memorial service.  KX News
  • Work is underway on the state capitol grounds to improve security at the governor’s residence; workers are installing pillars for a fence, a new concrete driveway & updated landscaping for $2.3 million, with the project set to finish this summer.  KX News
