- ➤ A former Mandan elementary school (the old Custer Elementary) will be remodeled as a modern senior center for Morton and Oliver counties. The Council on Aging plans to upgrade the facility with expanded fitness programming and extra parking to serve a growing senior population. KFYR-TV

- ➤ Amazon is building a new package shipping facility at 1300 Yegen Rd in Bismarck — the project was permitted last year and will begin operations late 2026 or early 2027. KFYR-TV
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Mandan Public Schools sold the Custer Elementary School building to the Morton County Council on Aging, which will work with architects to renovate it into a full-service senior center. The district expects to save $1.5 million from the closure that followed low enrollment. KX News

- ➤ The National Weather Service in Bismarck declared the start of the growing season (May 8), marking the official beginning for local agriculture. KFYR-TV
