A Mandan man died and a Bismarck man was injured when a 44-year-old driver going in the wrong direction hit a Chevrolet Traverse head-on on Interstate 94 near Eckelson Monday afternoon, officials said.

South Bow restarted the Keystone pipeline Monday after an oil spill on farmland north of Fort Ransom forced a shutdown; the operator began a carefully controlled restart (with 24/7 monitoring, reduced pressures, and cleanup procedures) under federal oversight.

The Bismarck-Mandan MPO will collect public input for its Safety Policy Study at the upcoming Touch-a-Truck event on Main Street in Mandan (admission is free) and will accept written comments until May 31.

The study uses the USDOT Safe System Approach to help cut serious transportation injuries and deaths and involves partners from Bismarck, Mandan, Lincoln, Burleigh County, and Morton County.
