  • The stolen pink dog statue was taken last month from Unconventional Cookies Cookie Haus, found wrapped in a blanket in a ditch, and restored free by Dakota Recreation Repair+ owner Witney Neilsen held a party yesterday to thank the community and raise funds for Furry Friends Rockin Rescue+ with bubbles, puppies, cookies, and stickers marking the statue’s happy return.  KFYR-TV
  • Legacy United Methodist Church is collecting new or nearly-new plushies and fidget toys for the Bismarck Police Department to help children feel calm during stressful situations (such as when a parent is arrested). Pastor Cory Thrall said donations began on April 1 and will be accepted until the end of April (donations can be dropped off during office hours or at services).  KFYR-TV

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Federal regulators ordered Keystone Pipeline operator South Bow to fix the ruptured pipe after 147,000 gallons of oil spilled near Fort Ransom. The company said it will resume energy deliveries by Tuesday — while crews continue repair and cleanup efforts.  KFYR-TV

CRIME NEWS

  • After an April 4 traffic stop that led to the arrest of a woman charged with driving under suspension and drug paraphernalia, Burleigh County Deputy Zach Bugbee delivered a pizza order—he refused a tip—and was thanked on social media.  KX News

  • Members of the House Appropriations Committee voted to recommend defeating a bill that would force libraries to move obscene or adult materials to areas less reachable by children and add safeguards for online content—The House may vote today on the proposal that could also withhold public funds if libraries do not comply.  KFYR-TV
