A fire has burned about 2,000 acres in Emmons and Sheridan Counties so far, with fire units from Goodrich, McClusky, Wing, Wilton, Regan and Mercer County along with the ND Forest Service responding and a Black Hawk sent to Emmons County from the ND Department of Emergency Services while Highway 1804 south of Bismarck remains closed between mile marker 61—Moffit Road—and mile marker 47—63rd Street SW due to heavy smoke and reduced visibility.

The North Dakota Game and Fish Department will hold eight spring public meetings beginning mid-April to discuss issues affecting hunters, anglers and outdoor enthusiasts with input from the public.
