- ➤ Workers recovered 29,400 gallons of oil from an underground pipeline spill on farmland near Fort Ransom—where an estimated 147,000 gallons were released—and over 200 workers continue cleanup and investigation while the owner said the 2,689-mile pipeline will restart only with regulator approvals. - ➤ A Bismarck woman who had her murder conviction overturned by the North Dakota Supreme Court in spring 2024 pleaded guilty to charges in connection with her nephew’s death—she was sentenced to 25 years in prison. Bismarck Tribune

- ➤ Officials reported that about 3,500 barrels of crude oil spilled from the Keystone pipeline near Fort Ransom after a loud mechanical bang and that workers shut it down within two minutes. State lawmakers passed Senate Bill 2385 to protect mobile home park residents from fee hikes, rejected a measure to lower penalties for small amounts of marijuana, and a meteorologist forecast warm days and high winds. - ➤ Bismarck city commission approved an extension of Tyler Parkway from Valley Drive to Cogburn Road after residents voiced strong opposition. City staff will now finalize a design for the new road with a shared use path—construction will begin in 2026 and be funded by a half cent sales tax. Bismarck Tribune
- ➤ The North Dakota Department of Emergency Services announced that FEMA’s Building Resilient Infrastructure and Communities program was cancelled earlier this month—resulting in a risk of losing over $20 million in funding for mitigation projects like flood walls. - ➤ CHI St. Alexius Health has launched its Child and Adolescent Partial Hospitalization Program to offer intensive day treatment services to help children and teens with mental health and substance use challenges using $750,000 from HHS—daily sessions will run for 3-4 weeks. The hospital will host an open house on Monday, April 21 from 5 to 7 p.m.—community members can visit and learn about the new services. KX News
