- ➤ Tuesday morning, a crack in the Keystone oil pipeline in North Dakota forced the shutdown of the line in a field 60 miles southwest of Fargo, and teams worked to block the spill — experts say the loss of millions of gallons of oil may push up gas and diesel prices in the Midwest soon. KX News

- ➤ FEMA is ending the BRIC program — cutting $20 million set aside for water projects in Washburn, Lincoln, Fessenden and other areas. Governor Armstrong has directed state agencies to work with local communities to find new solutions — as planning work already done is affected. KX News
- ➤ At a five-hour meeting on Monday night, Kay LaCoe (Sr. Vice President of Public Affairs and Communications for the Lignite Energy Council) announced her run for a Burleigh County Commission seat in 2026, saying the county needs servant leadership and a broader pool of candidates. She added (while supporting the current commissioners) that she still has much to learn about managing the county. KFYR-TV
- ➤ The Burleigh County Commission held its final public input session Monday night to consider changing the county auditor/treasurer role from elected to appointed, and most residents who spoke favored keeping the position elected while opinions can still be submitted on the county website. - ➤ On Tuesday, the North Dakota National Guard Civil Support Team – joining the Bismarck Fire Department, Metro Area Ambulance and Bismarck Emergency Management – conducted hazmat training for first responders. The exercises will continue through Thursday evening in Cottonwood Park to update skills for handling hazardous materials. KFYR-TV
- ➤ On Thursday, April 10, sediment will be cleaned out of a storm sewer manhole at the 7th St and Rosser Ave intersection. The work will close one lane on southbound 7th St and reduce Rosser Ave to one lane in each direction while closing the north leg crosswalk—weather permitting—and last up to two days.
