GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Burleigh and Emmons counties declared a fire emergency and imposed burn restrictions until the end of October + officials say the measures aim to prevent wildfires. Bismarck Tribune
- ➤ Costing $119 million, construction will begin on April 13 on both the east and west ends of Memorial Highway in Mandan. Contractors plan to minimize business disruptions this season while upgrading utilities, roads, bike paths, and pedestrian walkways, with phase one set to complete this year. KFYR-TV

- ➤ Watford City's hockey program will join the Western Dakota Association next winter after Watford City High School teams receive sanctioned status in a decision approved last week.
