  • Bismarck Veterans Memorial Public Library partnered with Bismarck-Burleigh Public Health to give away free Bug Kits on Monday, April 07 at 9:00 a.m. at the library—open to all ages to promote outdoor activity.  City of Bismarck
  • The Bismarck Veterans Memorial Public Library invites community members to join National Library Week from April 6 through 12 as it hosts special events that showcase its role in supporting lifelong learning and sparking creativity for all ages.  City of Bismarck

CRIME NEWS

  • A Bismarck man (43-year-old Dustin Ward) was arrested and jailed Friday morning for terrorizing near the 1100 block of Summit Boulevard after he threatened two people with a knife; he had been out on bond for a similar offense in Mandan last month.  KFYR-TV
  • Federal authorities say five people (charged in a drug trafficking case) will go to trial in early May for moving meth (and fentanyl) from Colorado and Arizona to North Dakota.  Bismarck Tribune

CULTURE NEWS

  • The current cast of Whose Line Is It Anyway? will launch their new improv tour, WHOSE LIVE ANYWAY?, live in concert at Belle Mehus Auditorium on Monday, September 15. The 90-minute show will include quick scenes & audience participation with stars like Greg Proops, Jeff B. Davis, Ryan Stiles, & Joel Murray.  City of Bismarck

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The North Dakota Senate passed a property tax relief and reform bill on Thursday that lowered the primary residence tax credit to $1,250 and requires property owners to pay at least 25% of their tax liability—sending the bill to a conference committee for further negotiations. The bill, which expands eligibility for the homestead credit and increases the maximum renter’s refund, will return to the House for a vote of concurrence.  Bismarck Tribune
  • Starting May 7, you will need a REAL-ID-compliant driver’s license—a REAL ID shows with a gold star—to fly in the United States; you may update your identification later if your travel is after May 7 but must bring original documents like a birth certificate, proof of your social security number, and two proofs of your resident address.  KFYR-TV
