The North Dakota Senate passed a property tax relief and reform bill on Thursday that lowered the primary residence tax credit to $1,250 and requires property owners to pay at least 25% of their tax liability—sending the bill to a conference committee for further negotiations.

The bill, which expands eligibility for the homestead credit and increases the maximum renter’s refund, will return to the House for a vote of concurrence.

Bismarck State College has started a new drone racing team that races on simulators this season — after a live trial proved too hard to control.

Coach Solli Frank said the diverse group of students will add live races next year to build their drone skills for future careers.
