- ➤ Native Inc., a nonprofit that serves Native American people and families, will host a community forum for small business owners in Bismarck on Monday. Bismarck Tribune
- ➤ Shelby Imdieke and her daughter Claire will run Olive's Ice Cream Truck this summer after having a truck shipped from Washington D.C.—the truck, named for their golden retriever Olive, is set to serve treats at local events and help Claire learn business skills. Plans include adding dog gelato and giving back to the community. KX News

- ➤ Country singer Ned LeDoux will perform at Mandan Rodeo Days at Dale Pahlke Arena on June 28. Local acts will join him and ticket pre-sale begins on April 8 + general admission costs $25. KX News

- ➤ Theodore Roosevelt National Park will host three events during National Park Week from April 19th to April 27th to celebrate nature and adventure—Junior Ranger Day at Peaceful Valley Ranch on April 19th, a guided 4-mile hike with Ranger Peelee on April 20th, and a Spring Clean-Up Day at the South Unit Visitor Center on April 26th. - ➤ The North Dakota Legislature is considering a resolution that would require lawmakers to report child exploitation crimes and face tougher penalties if they are involved—this proposal follows the Holmberg case and aims to ensure stronger accountability among public officials. The decision is set to be discussed in upcoming legislative sessions. Bismarck Tribune
- ➤ North Dakota broke ground on a $166 million women's correctional facility in Mandan that will house more than 300 inmates across (191,500 square feet). The Heart River Correctional Center is designed for rehabilitation and reentry with job training, education and a new nursery program that will let some incarcerated mothers stay with their newborns (for up to 18 months). - ➤ The North Dakota Senate passed a bill on Wednesday raising the price of licenses for hunting, fishing and boating — the change will require updated fees when licenses are renewed. Bismarck Tribune

- ➤ Daryl, a Bismarck man who began gambling as a child and later sought help from a treatment center in Montana, shared that he has been gambling-free for nearly 25 years after his wife alerted him to the problem. North Dakota Health and Human Services’ Lisa Vig noted (2-3%) of Americans face similar issues, and Gamblers Anonymous now helps locals (meeting Thursday and Sunday nights at Good Shepherd Church) on their road to recovery.
