CRIME NEWS

  • Mandan police are still searching for 20-year-old Renzo Bullhead, who went missing on March 18 after he told a friend he was crossing the train bridge over the Missouri River—footage showed he stayed on the bridge—and local and regional teams joined the search.  KX News

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Bismarck’s yard waste collection sites will open on Saturday, March 29th. Residents must follow the posted instructions — including not dumping grass on the ground — to keep the service running properly.  City of Bismarck
  • A bill to ban third-party surveys in schools remained defeated in the House after a 46-to-45 vote—Rep. Vicky Steiner asked for reconsideration since she missed the vote on Friday.  KFYR-TV
  • A House bill that proposes an increase of three cents per gallon on gas and higher registration fees for electric vehicles narrowly passed and now waits in the Senate. The bill would fund road repairs in counties, cities and townships—though some opponents say it may strain consumers.  KFYR-TV
  • House lawmakers voted down House Concurrent Resolution 3035 in a 77-to-15 vote to use the common schools trust fund for school construction—opponents argued the funds should remain for per-pupil support, teacher salaries, and student resources—and the resolution will not be on the ballot for 2026.  KFYR-TV

HEALTH NEWS

  • CHI St. Alexius in Bismarck has acquired a new robotic guidance system that uses CAT scans to plan implants with greater accuracy—doctors say the system can shorten surgeries that once took a full day to just a few hours. Since October, more than 90 patients have benefited from procedures performed with the new system.  KFYR-TV
