- ➤ City Forester Christy Ames-Davis said the Forestry Division will begin its citywide search for elm bark beetle habitat in firewood piles starting the week of March 24th — if marked elm wood is found, homeowners must remove, burn or debark it within ten days to help prevent Dutch elm disease. - ➤ Gov. Kelly Armstrong vetoed Senate Bill (SB) 2261 on Friday because he said the law might not follow the Constitution. This action was his first veto since taking office. Bismarck Tribune
- ➤ Mandan Public Works opened the city's grass and leaf collection sites—residents now have a new way to drop off yard waste for recycling. Bismarck Tribune
- ➤ Bismarck city officials & the symphony orchestra are reviewing ways to keep the Fourth of July celebration going after concerns arose from the construction of a new State Laboratory. They will decide on any changes soon so residents know if the event will continue. Bismarck Tribune
- ➤ The City of Bismarck Roads and Streets Department is continuing its citywide street sweeping program that will work on all residential streets as long as weather permits. Residents are asked to follow guidelines and keep vehicles off the street to help keep the area safe. City of Bismarck
