  • Sacred Pipe Resource Center & Great Plains Food Bank partnered to hold a two-day food pantry on Tuesday and Wednesday that served about 60 people with basic and traditional items to address food insecurity. Organizers plan to offer similar events in the future.  KFYR-TV

BUSINESS NEWS

  • North Dakota officials said Continental— the company that introduced fracking to the Bakken oil fields— is reducing its drilling activity, but it will continue operations in the state. The move means the company is scaling back rather than exiting the local market.  Bismarck Tribune

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Oil prices dropped sharply since 2024 and North Dakota drilling stayed strong into early 2025, but production has now begun to slow. Economists say the state’s oil fields have been resilient (showing a delayed response to lower prices).  Bismarck Tribune

  • Mandan Public Schools named Dr. Carly Retterath as its new superintendent; she (assistant superintendent) will begin her role on July 1 as the board starts its search for a new assistant.  KFYR-TV
  • The Mandan School Board hired Carly Ritterath as the new superintendent for Mandan Public Schools today & the decision marks a new leadership chapter for the district.  Bismarck Tribune

HEALTH NEWS

  • Sanford Health has reopened its MRI center on Rosser Avenue in downtown after a year of renovations — featuring a state-of-the-art 3 Tesla magnet and improved safety measures to serve patients.  KFYR-TV
