About this event
Tuesday, November 24, starting at 9:30 am.
Located at Connection Cafe – The AgeWell Center – 315 N 20th Street, Bismarck.
Indigenous foods refer to the traditional crops, wild plants, and native animals that have sustained Native American and indigenous communities across North America for thousands of years. Long before modern grocery stores, these diverse food systems relied on a deep understanding of local ecosystems, foraging, hunting, and sustainable farming.
Join Shelly Kuntz and Jan Stankiewicz from NDSU Extension-Bureigh County to explore the tribes from North Dakota, their Indigenous history, food practices, food presentation, and food sovereignty.
Enjoy a sample of Three Sisters Soup, Chive Cheese Cornbread, and Pemmican, while playing a game of BINGO!
This class is limited to 20 people, and you must be registered to sample foods. Stop by Client Services or call 255-4648 to register.
